Annoy Your Spammers

Ipillion is one of many websites where you can report spam IPs and see previously reported IPs. The only price you pay is that they also record your IP, I’m assuming to guard against abuse. I get weekly spam comments on this blog, which happily get caught by my spam protection plugin, and I report them all.
I find IP-stalking rather creepy myself, but I’m considering sending some polite letters to some of the top addresses on that list, or perhaps their local police stations. I feel this is an area where one should proceed carefully, though – not just in order to not be creepy, but because the IPs shown could just lead to hijacked PCs or be falsely reported.
