DeviantArt is not for gender deviants. Transfinite’s request to reinstate the “unspecified” gender option resulted in them being told by dA representative Realitysquared that there are no non-binary genders unless one is a hermaphrodite. (!) Transfinite has received no apology for these slurs.

However, Nazism is apparently just fine with dA.

In an attempt to respond to angry letters about the lack of the “unspecified” option, dA gets even more offensive. “Other” is added as an option, but now “Gender” is changed to “Sex” and this entry about it makes it pretty clear that they are actually expecting people to list their “biological sex” (which is itself an offensive and outdated term for sex assigned at birth) while registering and their “Gender” in the profile page. Unbelievable.

Facebook, by the way, also allows only two gender options.

New U.S. airport rules require security personnel to touch the genitals of people who refuse to go through the full body scanner machine, in an admitted attempt to persuade people not to opt for the pat-down instead.
